Akme (formerly Ekmea) set out to redefine high-end experiential travel for discerning globetrotters seeking curated, off-the-beaten-path itineraries, private villa bookings, and VIP concierge access. Traditional luxury travel agencies relied on static PDF itineraries sent over email, leaving travelers stranded when flights were delayed, dinner reservations required last-minute adjustments, or local recommendations were needed on the go in remote international destinations.

Solid Sphere proposed developing a white-glove mobile travel concierge app paired with an agency management portal. Step-by-Step Technical Execution
We developed cross-platform mobile apps in React Native for iOS and Android, designing a luxury editorial visual aesthetic with smooth page transitions and offline caching for international travel. The app organizes multi-day journeys into intuitive day-by-day timelines, displaying flight gate changes, private driver contact details, and villa access codes. We integrated Google Maps SDK with custom map styling, caching points of interest locally so travelers can navigate unfamiliar cities without roaming data. We built a real-time messaging gateway in Node.js connecting travelers directly to their dedicated travel designer, allowing instant table reservations and bespoke excursion adjustments. Stripe was integrated for secure, one-tap payments of incidental travel expenses and exclusive private tours. The agency backend enables travel designers to craft bespoke itineraries using drag-and-drop travel modules and broadcast real-time flight updates via push notifications.
