Project overview
Parent ProTech is Empowering families and educators with digital safety tools and resources.. Parent ProTech equips families and educators with digital safety tools and interactive learning resources. Built with high standards for performance, security, and intuitive user experiences, the platform is engineered to support mission-critical workflows and seamless scale.
What was the problem or pain point
Client Dilemma & Technical Bottleneck
Parent ProTech partners with school districts across the United States to educate parents, teachers, and students on cybersecurity, digital safety, social media dangers, and responsible AI usage. The organization was struggling with low parent engagement, clunky video streaming, and lack of administrative reporting for school superintendents who required verifiable completion data to meet state digital safety compliance mandates.
What we suggested to the client
Solid Sphere Architectural Recommendation
Solid Sphere recommended building a modern, accessible educational video learning platform. We proposed a mobile-optimized Next.js web application featuring bite-sized video lessons (under 5 minutes), multi-language subtitles, automated progress tracking, and an administrative analytics portal for school districts to monitor school-wide parent participation and safety milestone achievements.
What made this project challenging
Equipping schools and parents with practical education on modern cyber risks, social media, and gaming
Delivering bite-sized, engaging video modules with automated comprehension assessments
Integrating school district single sign-on (SAML/Clever) across thousands of K-12 institutions
Providing school administrators with real-time participation analytics and district compliance reports
What was implemented and how it was implemented
Step-by-Step Technical Execution
We developed the web platform using Next.js with TypeScript and TailwindCSS, prioritizing accessibility, rapid loading speeds, and responsive design across smartphones and tablets. We integrated Vimeo OTT and the Vimeo Player API to deliver adaptive bitrate video streaming with automated closed captioning in English and Spanish. We engineered an automated user onboarding flow where school districts can issue branded registration links to parents, automatically attributing their progress to their children's specific school. For district leaders, we created a comprehensive administrative dashboard built with Node.js and PostgreSQL that visualizes completion rates, trending safety concerns, and downloadable compliance certificates. We also built an interactive community Q&A section where parents can submit emerging digital safety questions to certified cybersecurity educators.
How we delivered
Developed multi-tenant educational portal with customized branding for individual school districts
Engineered gamified learning module player with video chapters, interactive quizzes, and certificates
Integrated enterprise Single Sign-On (SAML 2.0, Clever, ClassLink) for frictionless district access
Built administrator reporting suite displaying district-wide parental engagement metrics
What did we use to implement it
Technology Stack & Technical Rationale
Next.js and TypeScript provided server-side rendering, exceptional page load speeds, and strict code reliability. TailwindCSS enabled a clean, intuitive, and welcoming user interface designed for non-technical parents. Node.js and PostgreSQL powered user authentication, school district hierarchy modeling, and granular lesson completion tracking. Vimeo API provided secure, high-definition adaptive video streaming with DRM protection. AWS infrastructure ensured high availability during school-wide rollout campaigns.
Key outcomes
Adopted by over 250 K-12 school districts nationwide
Trained over 150,000 parents and educators on digital safety
95% course completion satisfaction rate
Zero friction enterprise district onboarding
